TypeTool is a basic font editor for small font. Professional-quality fonts and industry-standard font technology: the engine of TypeTool is based on FontLab Studio, the professional font editor used by numerous font foundries worldwide. Note: The ability to edit the advanced typographic OpenType Layout features is not included in TypeTool, so other tools such as FontLab Studio, Microsoft VOLT or Adobe FDK for OpenType need to be used. Open and generate PostScript-flavored (CFF/.otf) and TrueType-flavored (.ttf) OpenType fonts (new in version 3). New in version 3-Create new fonts or modify existing fonts, open any fonts installed on your system (improved in version 3). With TypeTool you can: -Make new fonts -Automatically hint and kern your fonts -Add ligatures, old style figures, fractions, currency symbols and foreign -characters to your fonts -Make your own dingbat or clipart fonts -Make font variations with the new transformation tools -Print font reference tables -Rearrange and rename your fonts characters -Add correct em dashes, en dashes, quotation marks and apostrophes to your fonts -Make custom end-of-story markers for your newsletter -Convert fonts between Adobe Type 1 and TrueType formats -Edit fonts with up to 64,000 glyphs with support for 2-byte encodings -View large fonts in a special Font Map window. TypeTool supports virtually all font encodings and codepages and can import/export fonts with up to 64000 characters. It has extensive glyph drawing and editing tools and manual and automatic kerning capabilities.
